Victoria Better is our owner and is also a Licensed Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience.  She is licensed in the State of Maryland and Washington D.C.  She has received her education and professional training from Howard University.  She became Certified in Neurological Developmental Treatment (NDT) in 1996.  She received her Certified Lymphedema Treatment (CLT) training in 2004 Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy utilizing the Vodder Technique.  In 2006, Victoria completed training as a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS).  She earned her Certified Functional Capacity Evaluator (CFCE) credentials in 2008 and Certified Physical Agent Modalities (CPAM) in 2011.  Victoria is a proud wife and mother of one daughter.  She brings the sense of family and love into her practice at Upper Extremity & Hand Therapy, Inc.  In her spare time she enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and horseback riding.

Tigisti Abraha

Tigisti graduated from Howard University in 2010 with a Masters in Occupational Therapy degree and has since been practicing specializing in hand and upper extremity injuries, although she also has experience in acute care and skilled nursing facilities. Tigisti has a special interest in manual therapy in the treatment of many nerve, soft tissue, and orthopedic injuries. She has taken many courses to enhance her clinical knowledge in the areas of shoulder rehabilitation, kinesiotaping of the upper extremity, manual therapy, and use of physical agent modalities. Tigisti received her certification in the use of physical agent modalities in 2012 and in 2014 obtained a certification in the use of Active Release Techniques.  Tigisti has also received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Salisbury University in 2005 where she studied economics and marketing. She plans in the near future to sit for her Hand Therapy Certification.

Kimberly Williams is a national board registered Occupational Therapist in the Washington DC, metropolitan area. Ms. Williams began her higher education by earning a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Biology at University of Maryland, Eastern shore. She went on to continue her education at Howard University, where she earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Kimberly’s clinical experience includes a variety of settings including outpatient therapy with a specialty in hand therapy and mental health, and inpatient rehabilitation services in both skilled nursing and acute rehabilitation settings. She has also worked abroad in San Jose, Costa Rica with patients in an inpatient treatment facility with serious mental illness in addition to a hospital specializing in burn rehabilitation. Ms. Williams is a recipient of the Howard University Occupational Therapy Trustee Scholarship and has held the Vice President position of the Howard University Occupational Therapy Government Organization. She is currently a member in Divisions of Allied Health Sciences Honor Society, National Epsilon Tau Sigma Honor Society, and Pi Theta Epsilon National Occupational Therapy Honor Society. Kimberly also holds specialized certification in Physical Agent Modalities and is certified in CPR and basic First Aid. Ms. Williams special areas of interests include both orthopedic and neurological injures including, cognitive retraining and neuromuscular re-education. Other hobbies include decorating, event planning, and crafting.
